Country Cob Loaf - Made with Fresh Yeast - Standard white loaf which is light and spongy with a Medium Crust.
Put the flour and salt in a mixing bowl.
In another bowl, mix the sugar with the yeast until it turns into a liquid. Add the yeast to the tepid water and then add the liquid to the flour, beating vigorously. Cover the bowl and allow to stand and prove to double its size for one hour in a warm area.
Pre-heat oven to Gas mark 6, 180ºC.
After an hour, knock the dough back and mould into a ball. Cover and allow to prove again for 20 minutes.
Spray the surface of the bread with cold water and sprinkle with your chosen garnish. Bake the bread in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
