Flapjacks Spiced with Ginger

Delicious flapjacks spiced with ginger. A crunchy treat that goes well with a cup of coffee. Simple to make and an all time favourite.

 110 g Brown Sugar
 110 g Butter
 2 tsp Golden syrup
 175 g Oats
 1 tsp Ground Ginger

Lightly grease a 7 inch baking tin.

Pre heat oven to 150°C.

Place the sugar, butter & golden syrup in a saucepan and heat gently, stirring occasionally. Take the saucepan off the heat.

Stir in the oats & ginger, a little at a time, making sure that the oats are covered by the liquid.

Pour the mixture into the prepared tin & press it out evenly, using a spoon or the back of your hand. Bake in the centre of the oven for 40 minutes.

Allow the mixture to cool for 10 minutes. Then cut into small chunks.

Leave in the tin until the flapjacks are cold, then remove them gently.
