Spaghetti Bolognese

Another Italian treat & so simple to create.

Spaghetti Bolognese

 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
 1 Small Diced Onion
 1 tsp Tomato Puree
 1 Clove of Garlic
 Seasoning
 0.50 tsp Dried Oregano
 0.50 Beef stock Cube
 250 g Lean Minced Beef
 1 tbsp Plain Flour
 59 g Dried Spaghetti
 25 g Grated Cheddar Cheese

Put a pint of water into a medium sized saucepan and bring to the boil.

In another small saucepan, add the oil and onion and simmer on a low heat until it is tender and slightly coloured..Then add the tomato puree, seasoning and oregano and continue to simmer for a further 5 minutes.

In a jug, sprinkle the stock cube into half a pint of boiling water, mix well and put to one side.

Add the minced beef to your main saucepan and thoroughly mix with the other ingredients, continuing to simmer for a further 5 minutes. Add the flour, mix well and then gradually add the jug of stock. Allow to simmer for 10 minutes.

In your saucepan of boiling water, add the spaghetti, a pinch of salt and allow to simmer for 10 minutes. Drain the spaghetti.

Place the spaghetti on a serving dish and add the bolognese sauce, garnishing with the grated cheddar. (An alternative to cheddar is Parmesan).
