Toffee Apple Crumble

Apple Crumble with a caramelised twist. A crisp crumble made with oats coating toffee flavoured apples.

 600 g Cooing Apples (peeled, cored & sliced)
 50 g Butter
 100 g Demerara Sugar
 1 tsp Cinnamon
 150 g Self Raising Flour
 50 g Oats
 100 g Margarine

In a saucepan with a lid, over a moderately low heat, add the butter, 50g of the sugar & the cinnamon. Gently simmer until the butter has melted. Add the sliced apples, coat with the melted butter & replace the lid. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes.

Pre heat oven to 180ºC.

In a bowl, mix together the flour, oats, margarine & remaining sugar. Mix until the texture becomes crumbly.

Place the cooked apples into an ovenproof dish & coat with the crumble mixture. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
